The leaves are made from Premier Light Weight Stone Clay by LaDoll using the silk clay tutorial found here: Silk Clay Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers A little bit goes a long way.
After rolling out the clay, I took a knife and roughly cut the approximate shape of the leaf. I sponged it with more mustard, really rust, ruby red and old olive then stamped the leaves with really rust and old olive. I used Tombow Mono Multi glue to attach the clay after it dried. I'm not so sure I should have sponged the clay to match the background paper. I'm very surprised the leaves scanned as well as they did.
Update: I mailed this card today and the clay didn't add any extra weight to it. If I hadn't wanted it hand-stamped it would have cost me the regular 44 cents. Since I didn't want it to go through the machine, I had to pay an the extra 20 cents. Now we'll just have to wait to see if it makes it to it's destination.
Update #2: Sagebrush received the card with no damage to the leaves.
