When Joan came up with this idea for the TLC, I searched through my whole stash of chipboard shapes to find something that would be fun to play with. I found this birdie (and his wing) from Maya Road and I used some papers from Bo Bunny (Forever Fall) to cover him up. I sponged the edges with a dark brown ink and I added a chocolate brown pearl for the eye. Since the papers were fall themed, I wanted to make a warm fall scene to make my birdie feel at home.
I pulled out a chipboard branch (also from Maya Road) and covered it with crackle distress paint. I stamped some russet paper with Holly's Tattered Background (I Brake for Stamps) and distressed the edges. I also punched out a leaf and stamped the sentiment .
Now I needed a nest for my birdie. I looked around to see what I could use, and I saw the big ol' ball of twine that I've had for ages. Hmmmm...... one hour and some shredded fingernails later, I have a nest! LOL I used my nails to rip the twine apart and then I glued down the fibrous strands.

Your card has such a warm, rich, inviting feel to it. Great use of color and texture. Your wrecked fingernails have created a wonderful nest for this cute bird to call home.
