With all the rain and grey skies for the last few weeks I needed to create a bright and cheerful card to improve my attitude. The brighter the better...and this card turned out bright!
CARD (6.25” wide x 5” tall)
Front Image: Robins and butterfly in a sunny field of flowers
Front Sentiment: None
Inside Sentiment: None
I created the whimsical scene on the front of my card by stamping the birds, flowers, and butterfly on cream cardstock. I colored the images using colored pencils and gamsol. I heat embossed the colored images with clear embossing powder to protect them while I sponged the background.
For the background I sponged on the landscape of grass, sky and sun using a variety of colored inks. After the background dried, I removed the clear embossing powder from the images with an iron and scrap typing paper.
To complete the front of the card I matted the scene with neon yellowed orange and yellow cardstocks and affixed it to a neon green card base I constructed.
For the inside panel I stamped a vase of flowers and butterfly in the lower right hand corner of cream cardstock and colored them using colored pencils and gamsol. To complete the panel I sponged color around the vase of flowers and sponged a sun in the upper left corner.
I created a coordinating envelope from heavy white cover stock and sponged a bright yellow sun in the lower left corner.
