Here's my entry for the "UTEE" theme for PAT 16. This baby is THICK, well over 1/4". I had never worked with UTEE in melted form before and I found it both challenging and motivating. I used the technique described by Bernie Berlin in her ATC book, wherein you create a mold out of mica and metal repair tape and then pour melted UTEE into it, layering with bits and bauble as you go.
The bits and baubles I put in are: polymer clay tiles with the word "time" stamped into them; a length of vintage chain; a watchface button, and a 7Gypsies gear smushed into the top. Once I popped it out of the mold, I stamped the back, layered different varieties of gold leaf onto the stamped image, then covered that with some Graphic45 paper to protect. I can't wait to use this technique again!

Bernie Berlin's book has become something of a well-tagged reference in my art room. This atc technique is one I've used and although time consuming, it does produce some exceptionally nifty results-this one is no exception!
