This week when Anne spun her gigantic wheel, she landed on the incredible gallery of scrappigramma2 aka Grace! I've long been an admirer of Grace's outstanding artwork, and have quite a few of her cards saved to my favorites. Because I had a brand new stamp set waiting to be inked up, I chose this one to CASE ~ Stay the Course on the High Seas .
While I used a similar image, I left off a lot of the details Grace is so famous for. No stitching, no twine or eyelets, no sponging, and no tipped image panel (I tried, but just couldn't get it to work for me). I did make mine a square card... something I rarely do. And true to Grace's signature, my card is complete with cat hair!
Thanks Grace, for being such an inspiration and for your comments and encouragement.
This is also for the Free 4 All Challenge... a card inspired by something we collect. I never really thought of it as a collection, but I sure have a lot of nautical items scattered around my house.
Thanks for looking, and have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Ms Hilda Broom, how special is this! Love your coloring on your new image. You've paired the image so well w/that dp. Grand and glorious as always. I have to think Grace will love this. Grace's work is very difficult to case. I had to take the easiest one in her gallery!

I love cards like this, that help me dream of sailing off into the sunset. Most pictures on our walls are photos or embroideries, but once with Christmas money I bought a print of a sailing ship. I like the map, love the rope detail down the side.

Wonderful card! Judging by your avatar(Mackinac Bridge?), you would have a lot of nautical inspiration...and I can imagine you would have some in your home. You live in a gorgeous area!!
