Hi! this card fits today's Limited Supply Challenge: Inspired by the Presidents. Participants were to make a card that can link back to a president. It's a bit like 7 Degrees of Separation.
We live in Jacksonville, FL. This city was originally named Cowford, but was renamed, in honor of the first military governor of the Florida Territory who became the seventh President of the United States (1829–1837). The Treaty Oak is an octopus-like Southern live oak (Quercus virginiana) in Jacksonville, Florida. The tree is estimated to be 250 years old and may be the single oldest living thing in Jacksonville, predating the founding of the city by Isaiah Hart during the 1820s. That oak sits on the south bank of the St. Johns River and USED to be seen from the river until highrise buildings sprang up. On the WAY to see the Treaty Oak, there is a backroad in a VERY old part of our town called St. Nicholas. That road has a lone tree and USED to have a fence. When I was in college, I used to ride my moped on that road to get to campus. NOW, you know where this image that was used on this card was inspired...the St. Nicholas backroad, past the Treaty Oak that is located in (PRESIDENT) JACKSONville.Whew! FOUR seperations! heeheehee
I stamped the image in Adirondack Espresso and used an aqua pen to blend the ink to make it look more like a watercolor painting. Next, I added in a bit of Chartreuse Palette Hybrid ink with the aqua painter for leaves and grass. The sky was painted in with Seascape. I used the reverse masking technique for the setting sun. (I sponged in Nude.)

Love that story. Would love to see that tree. I love nature.
Thanks for sharing and maybe one day I just might drive by that tree.
Your card is wonderful.
