1. Stamped the LAAT tree line image onto a piece of Eclipse masking tape, measuring 4 x 6 inches, and cut it apart along the horizon line.
2. Stamped the LAAT image close to the top of a 4 x 6 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock using Memories Soft Gray ink, just to give me a faint guide for masking.
3. Masked off the bottom grassy area and applied the 1 inch circle sticky note mask for the sun. Since I wanted a slightly arching sunset effect, instead of brayering I sponged the colors in the following order: Summer Sun, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Lovely Lilac, Brilliant Blue. I also sponged on Orchid Opulence for some pink glow. Removed the sun mask and sponged it with So Saffron and then Apricot Appeal for some depth.
4. Removed the lower grassy area mask and positioned the upper tree line mask. Brayered entire grassy area with River Rock, then brayered the lower edge with True Thyme, followed by Always Artichoke. Sponged under the trees and down the sides (slanting away from the sun) with True Thyme. Then, to add a glow to the center, I burnished (rubbed in a cirular motion with a sponge) with YoYo Yellow.
5. Removed the tree line mask and used the stampa-ma-jig to overstamp the tree line image with Palette Charcoal ink. Stamped the Deer Family and then the large pine tree silhouette on each side with Versafine Onyx Black.
6. Stamped the large pine and the Fir Trees using Palette Charcoal. Stamped the grass along the bottom edge with black. Sponged the bottom and sides with Chocolate Chip.
The 5 x 7 inch card base is Basic Black. I ran the True Thyme layer through my Big Kick using the Ellison Weave #2 texture plate, then sponged the edges that would show with True Thyme ink. The focal image is layered onto So Saffron and then Basic Black.
I know this is a lot of steps, but once I had the masks made, figured out the process and had all the supplies out, I made three of these cards. The Eclipse masks are still usable so I'm saving them.

I am struggling with the brayer (brayer lines) so I went to the sponge. The brayer is a more solid application of color while the sponging looks stipply (sp?) My daughter likes my sponging better than my brayering. Four tries so far...
The details on your card are meticulously wonderful! Your color choices work very well. Wish I could have seen this sunset. TY for all your notes and "how 2s!"
