Hello everyone! I am finally home and though I should be catching up on housework I'm making cards!!!
This is my submission for CC210. Jenn picked Riding Hood Red, Kraft and Summer Sun. I had just gotten my Clear Dollar order the day I left town, and was dying to ink some of the stamps up. I chose the Roman Road and made it the focal image, but that left me struggling with how to work in the Summer Sun. I had this great DP from Memory Box, and it was a perfect match for the red and Kraft, but what to do with the yellow! I tried layers... didn't like it.... tried yellow flowers... didn't seem right. I finally decided on using my Pastels and sponge dauber to sponge in a sun in the lower right corner and I brought rays out to the edges radiating out from the sun. It's hard to see in the photo, but I like the fianal result, and I feel it highlights the cross which is from a different CD set, and stamped over the "Jesus Saves" wording.
I felt the droplets of red on the DP reminded me of two things.... droplets of the precious blood of Christ, shed for all who will accept Him, and also they reminded me of the tiny flowers. I used a CB die to cut the scroll and little flowers and glued on. The flower centers are summer sun.
I hope you like my card. I took way longer on it than I should have but I'm glad to be back! I have hurt my arm and hand and find it hard to type, so forgive me if my comments are short or sparse.... you all know I try!!! LOL!
Hugs to all.... I can't tell you how much I missed seeing all your wonderful creations!!!

I loved how you worked in that summer sun as the glow around the cross. Genius! Such a beautiful card.
