What struck me about the card was the vivid colours and the way that they were applied in such an interesting manner on the flowers – they aren’t typical sunflowers – they are truly funky! I also liked the black and white around them. It made the colours stand out even more.
I made three cards today inspired by this same card and they evolved.
This is the first one I made.
It is most obviously inspired by the original.
I changed the stamps to Pocket Full of Posies (Technique Tuesday) and Designed Flourishes (Scrappy Cat). I added dots around the flowers and the border and omitted the ribbon and black mat – instead I dragged ink along the edge of my watercolour paper. My sentiment is stamped directly across the flowers on the main panel.
I started by stamping, masking and watercolouring my images on water colour paper, masking them again and stamping the swirls around them and then adding the dots. I stamped the sentiment with Sophie Caps Alphas from Paper Studio Lastly I painted along the edge of the main panel and then dragged it through my black ink. I mounted it onto a white base and then grounded it with dots that mimic those around the main image.
This was a fun card to make and I hope you like it. Thanks for such wonderful inspiration Kelly and thanks all for looking.

What a stunning effect! I love the watercoloring and how you have made it stand out with the black swirls and dots. Fabulous!
