Today's challenge was a colour challenge - use elegant eggplant, taken with teal and old olive together.
That colour combo suggested a peacock to me but I don't have a peacock stamp and my peacock feather stamp is still lost in moving limbo so.....
My friend Glenda did a peacock out of an ostrich and Riot of Petals (here:Gallery at Splitcoaststampers ) which is how I got the idea to use a chicken stamp and a flower stamp together to make a peacock! Thanks Glenda for the inspiration!!!!
Anyways...
I stamped the flower from Art Warehouse's My Heart Flowers and the chicken from Best of Cluck and coloured them both by watercolouring from marker ink on a CD and then cut out the part of the flower I wanted to use for the tail and partially cut out my little bird but left a crazy angle on the base because I liked it that way.
I CB'd my card stocks and layered them (the glittery purple is elegant eggplant put through the swiss dots folder, highlighted the dots with white gel pen and then liberally applied lavender stickles!) onto my white card base.
I used marker to add the coloured doodling around the chicken and the main panel and added the dollar store ribbon because the colour worked.
This is another one of those over the top (OTT) type cards that I just keep adding to until it feels finished. Sometimes it gets to be too much but I think I stopped in time (but just barely) with this one.
Thanks for the great colour challenge and hope you like my interpretation of it.
TFL.
