If you want a cheap version of honeycomb, try brayering ink onto bubble wrap, laying the cs on top of that, and rubbing to transfer the ink. More mustard ink works well for this.

Hmmm...I'd guess that the cards are super simple, and also that you'll do duplicates of fewer than 40 designs. Sounds like an interesting concept, though.
