My DH made this amazing cabinet for me for Christmas. It holds approx 400 rolls of ribbon. Each bar swings out for easy access. It is amazing. On the front panels he used peg board .. so if I want I can use the little hooks and store something else on the front ... but I like it clean and simple at this time ... maybe in future when I start runing out of storage space.
Hehehe I have read him the comments you ladies have left and his head is swelling LOL ... He is working on the written plans now as he created and perfected the swinging mounted arms engineering concepts (his words)

That is so cool!! Merry Christmas to you. He really should have the plans made up to either sell them or hook up with someone who can manufacture it. This is a excellent idea.

I will keep you all informed .. he is doing up the plans now ... he was a cabinetmaker by trade and I guess before he designed my cabinet he did alot of research on the net to see what us Gals were looking for in ribbon storage .... and then he came up with this idea ....
I told him he should patent the swing arms but he said for that there is way to much involved in getting a patent.. antway .. the plans will be ready soon
Totally awesome. Your husband is great to come up with this. Yes, my husband could build one if he had the plans. Let us know if you decide to sell them.
Wow, I just saw this thread. What a great Christmas gift and what a talented husband. He could definately sell the cabinets or sell the plans. I know I would love to have one.
WOW OMG and all that That is the greatest idea I have ever seen. I Would love to have one of those. I don't have a big room for my stamping but I have room for that on a wall.
When you are ready to share or sell plans or make and sell the cabinet COUNT ME IN.
THANKS.
You have one of the most thoughtful and sweetest husbands there is (I have the other one ;) ). I am so impressed that he did all of the "research", designed, & built this for you for Christmas! You are one lucky lady. What a great ribbon cabinet too ! I'm standing in line for those plans when he has them ready as I have 400 rolls of ribbon just waiting for a cabinet.
Hi Ladies .. he almost has the plans ready ... will keep you all posted .. he is putting together pricing for an unfinished unit so you can paint it the color of your choosing if you choose to purchase a built one ...
We are busy during the week with work and life so he will be on it this weekend

That is totally awesome... I have a question though... is it a full sized cabinet? from the outside it looks like a full sized cabinet that is like what about 12 inches deep... but when you open it up it looks like its only about 6 or 8 inches deep... love the look of it!! Great job hubby!!
It is 11 inches deep when closed .. when open it is 5.5 inches (each door)
