I stamped the sentiment ( it translates as "Listen to your Heart") on pale pink parchment and embossed with gold then took 2 round toothpicks and fashioned into tiny dowels to roll my scroll around. Finished this with some metallic threads wrapped around one end of my dowel. The vase was stamped & embossed with black for a lacquerware look then the floral design was enhanced with a bit of watercolor. Every Geisha House needs a Geisha so printed this digi and colored with prismacolor pencils (no, I didn't forget to finish coloring her - Geishas traditionally wear White pancake makeup!) I fussy cut her and added Stickles crystal to the flower centers on her Kimono, the fans and her hair ornaments.
Now to the card base - my biggest conundrum was how to get something resembling a floor in my house . . .Thought long & hard on this and finally decided to try the TH Rays stencil. Sponged DOX Frayed Burlap over the stencil then rubbed sand colored artists chalk over that entire surface with a cotton ball . . . I like the looks of this! I had originally stamped some trailing vines on the left hand side of the card but wasn't happy with the look so covered most of them with my DP wallpaper and hung the scroll. In the end I covered the remaining vines with a piece of Japanese Washi Tape - they still show through but aren't so "in your face". Arranged My Geisha and lacquerware vase then at the last minute decided it needed a string of paper lanterns. Stamped with a birthstone rainbow pad and added more stickles for lots of shimmer & shine on this card. Finished with a trio of aqua gems under the scroll.

Your geisha is a real eye-catcher with that beautiful silk (I am sure) dress and traditional white face. But I think my favourite detail is the scroll, it's fantastic. The case is beautiful. And Rays for the floor? Who knew, definitely stealing that idea.

Ack! Linda! This is awesome! Crossing my fingers that I get this one! That Tim Holtz stencil floor is pure genius! I'll be borrowing that one. You know what else I love? Miniature things. Who doesn't? And those toothpicks to make the miniature scroll is making the little kid in me think that my Barbies needed that wall hanging in their dream house. Did I mention this is in my faves now?

I have often said to myself, "self, Bubbles is a genius". I have never seen the sunray stencil used as a floor before - proof that you are indeed a genius. Your genius didn't stop there, I love how you cleverly covered up the portion you weren't happy with, without distracting from the card. The scroll complete with toothpicks is pure genius too. I love your colouring and all the other wonderful details too. You are going to make a lucky Teapotter very happy indeed. Thanks for sharing you genius ideas Bubbles.
