Spinner Ink Background

Create unique alcohol ink backgrounds in a salad spinner.

Step-by-Step

1. Step 1

   Gather your supplies. Any salad spinner will work as long as your paper can fit inside. The sample panel is 3 3/4" x 5" .
   
   IMPORTANT NOTE:
   After using your spinner with ink, please dedicate it for crafting only as the alcohol inks can be toxic for consumption.

   

2. Step 2

   Place your paper (Yupo used here) into the salad spinner. You can use a piece of low tack tape to secure it if necessary on the back.
   

   

3. Step 3

   Apply small drops of the alcohol ink randomly onto the paper. You can add multiple colours but too many will give you a muddy look at the end. 2-3 colours work the best.
   
   Add drops of rubbing alcohol or blending solution over the paper and inks. You don't need a lot. (In the video, rubbing alcohol is sprayed over the ink but dripping it over your paperworks just as well.)
   
   NOTE:
   DO NOT spray Ranger Blending Solution. If you are using that, drip in instead of spraying.

   

4. Step 4

   Place the lid on the salad spinner and spin away.
   
   Open the lid to see your creation. If you didn't get good ink coverage, repeat the above steps again on the same piece or add another colour.

   

5. Step 5

   Use the panel to complete a card or other project.
