Pearl Ex™ - Heated Pearls

by Beate Johns

Create a marble looking background with Pearl Ex™ powder and white school glue.

Supplies

  • White school glue

  • Pearl Ex®

  • Stipple brush

  • Embossing heat tool

  • Glossy cardstock (I used black for this tutorial. You can use white as well.)

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

Squeeze a good amount of glue in the center of the glossy cardstock.

  2. Step 2

Spread glue over the cardstock with the stipple brush.

  3. Step 3

Drop small amounts of Pearl Ex™ on the glue-covered cardstock. Repeat with another color or more. I used Aztec Gold and Super Russet.

  4. Step 4

Stipple until the Pearl Ex is evenly distributed on the cardstock.

HINT: When finished, put the stipple brush in water or rinse immediately to prevent the glue from drying in the bristles.

  5. Step 5

Heat glue mixture with heat tool. Bubbles will form. Once it doesn't bubble anymore, the background is done.

  6. Step 6

    Finish your card.

Variations

    White Glossy
Use white glossy cardstock for a completely different look, or brayer white glossy cardstock with any color you would like. Experiment. Have fun!
