Faux Linen

by Beate Johns

Scratch glossy cardstock with sandpaper to get this amazing look.

Supplies

  • Medium sandpaper

  • Glossy cardstock

  • Blending Tool, or sponge

  • Ink

  • Background stamp (optional) Crafty Secrets Artsy Banner used here

  • Stamps, Crafty Secrets Birds at Home used here

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1 (Optional)

Stamp a background on your glossy cardstock.

  2. Step 2

Sand your cardstock making vertical lines. Sand the entire piece of cardstock.

  3. Sand your cardstock horizontally, and keep sanding until all the gloss is gone.

  4. Step 3

    Sponge your cardstock with ink.

    Hint:
The darker the ink, the more obvious the sanded lines will be.

  5. Step 4 (Optional)

Stamp additional images on your background.

  6. Step 5

Sand your cardstock again in both directions to lighten the sponged color and to get the Faux Linen look.

  7. Step 6

    Finish your card.
