Double Dutch Fold

by Patty Bombyk

Create a unique card fold with a few score lines.

Supplies

  • One 4 3/16" x 9" piece of cardstock for card base
  • One 2" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock for dutch fold bottom
  • One 4" x 3 1/4" piece of cardstock or patterned paper for your layer
  • Scoring Tool
  • Adhesive
  • One large image or die cut of choice
  • Stamps of choice

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

    Score the 4 3/16" x 9" piece of cardstock at 5 1/2. Set aside.

  2. Step 2

    Score the 2" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock at 2 1/8" and at 6 3/8", like a gate fold card.

  3. Step 3

Fold the outer panels of your 2" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock in and decorate as desired. Adhere the center panel at the bottom of the back of the 4 3/16" x 9" piece of cardstock piece.

  4. At this point it should have double folds along the left and right side and at the top.

  5. Step 4

The bottom of the top fold should line up with the double doors at approximately 3 1/2" from the top.

  6. Step 5

    Decorate the card as desired.

I am able to look at the gallery and look at some cards, then I get a message that says I don't have permission to look at any more. This also happens when I go to look at a tutorial. I am signed up on your website and am wondering what else I need to do. I love your store, gallery and products but get frustrated at times when I can't see the things I want to look at. Help????

Really pretty card! I love the technique....it gives a regular card that extra oomph! It also changes things up a bit with out being too complicated.

Could artists please list finished dimensions of their projects? Then we'd know instantly, rather than having to do the math to find out! I really appreciate this rectangular card that can be mailed without the extra postage required on square cards.

Love the card. The fold is what caught my eye and attention. Really like the unusual, the unexpected and now most people I give/make cards for look for the unusal.

Now can someone tell me where is the 3/16 mark on the scorebuddy?

Thanks
