Dazzling Diamond Dust

by Beate Johns

Let your images sparkle with this easy and "glitter controlled" technique.

Supplies

  • Embossing Ink
  • Iridescent Ice® Embossing Powder
  • Neutral Colored Cardstock
  • Stamps, Unity's Savor the Journey used here
  • Ink
  • Coloring Medium, Copic Markers used here
  • Heat Gun
  • Powder Pals® (optional)

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

Stamp your image on neutral Cardstock. Let dry.

  2. Color your image and cut it down to the size you need. Petite Oval Nestabilities were used here.

  3. Step 2

Cover the entire piece of cardstock with embossing ink.

    Hint:
Leave your Nestabilities Die template on your cardstock if you don't want the edge of the cardstock sparkly.

  4. Step 3

Place the cardstock over the Powder Pal™. If you don't have one, use a piece of copy paper. Pour iridescent ice embossing powder all over the cardstock.

  5. Tap off the excess embossing powder.

  6. Step 4

Heat the embossing powder until it gets shiny.

  7. The color of your image will appear brighter once the embossing powder is melted.

  8. Step 5

    Finish your card.

Variations

    Sparkly Background
Use a brayer and cover your cardstock with one color. Add powder and emboss. Use that for a great sparkling background.

    Glue Pad
Substitute Embossing ink for a glue pad and Iridescent Ice Embossing powder for fine clear glitter.
