This was an interesting challenge, Julia...negative thoughts!!! Oh, that was negative space! As I was standing in my stamping pantry, going through my chipboard, I knew I wanted to make a welcome home card for my youngest son who has been at Little League State Championships all week. It's not been a good week in the winners circle for his team...but in life, I am certain these losses have built inner character. So, I'm combining DG alum Michelle's masculine theme with todays' challenge. And I'll have a card waiting when my all star WINNER arrives.
GP white cs is my card base. I matted my collage with awesome double sided sports paper by Scrappin' Sports grunge baseball. The negative space baseball (I love how THAT worked out)~~~letter "D" is the reverse side of the baseball words. I covered, sanded, and chalked the edges. The AND chipboard piece is from Cosmo Crickets' Wanted cigar box of alphas. I VersaMarked the & and embossed in glossy red ep. The fornlorn puppy is from clip art I printed off my computer. I love the look of the pup and the saying! "GEE, what a time I must have had". I added red brads in the corners and gold puffy stars on the left side. The number 12, &D's jersey # this year was from a great little set of wooden alphas .
So, let me know what you think, did I turn a negative into a positive? And if you're interested there's pics on my blog, down a few scrolls of other baseball Andy cards! My Blog
