This is for today's sketch challenge. I think I got the BG cut a little wrong - I had closed out of the window and couldn't remember exactly...oops.
I love coloring this flower and thought it would be a good time of year for a tiger lily TFL!
ETA: Several people have asked for further instructions on how the flower looks 3D. Aside from a little bending after I cut the image out, the depth comes from coloring. My best answer is -- I use a wide range of shades. I start by coloring the entire flower the lightest shade (apricot.) I shade first with a midtone (pumpkin) then the darkest shade (rust,) using the lightest marker and/or a blender pen to blend. When I'm shading, I pay attention to the areas that are "behind" other parts of the image (petals which are behind other petals need deeper color) Finally, I use gray and/or black to apply the deepest shading. This really makes the foreground petals "pop." I hope this makes sense -- it is hard to describe. Thank you so much for the kind comments and questions

I havent read your other comments, but I have a strong feeling I dont need to: Those colors are so gorgeous together and your flower is a show stopper! simply exquisite card.
