Well, thanks so much for a wonderful inspiration challenge, to use something in our homes. I love flowers, just LOVE them. And I also like antiques, they can be chipped, discolored, I do not care, I love old stuff. hence the teapot in my card, a little yellowed, a little chipped, but all the more beautiful because of those imperfections. One of my favorite flowers is lily of the valley. When I was little my mom would let me pick them and bring them to my teacher, I was a bit of an *eddie haskell* even back then for those of you who remmeber him! Anyway my inspiration for this card was this lovely bone chin a plate in my house thAT you see in the photo. And I am sending it to Florida to my friend Jerri Kay to thank her for bringing us her stunning creations, many of which use the * Me and Carrie lou* stamps. And to thank her for this card which she made for mE!! WT159 Rose for Nancy by Jerri Kay at Splitcoaststampers So I hope you like it, I am thrilled with the outcome if I do say so myself, and thanks for looking.
I stamped garden silhouettes in the background in stamped off pine needles distress ink, and sponged soft sky and cool carribean over them. I touched the flowers with white liquid pearsl after I watercolored them. The flowers and teapot are stamped in versamark on watercolor paper and embossed in different gold eps. I used a darker gold for the teapot because i wanted to make it look old and a little beaten up, unlike the fresh and beautiful flowers that grace my yard each spring. I watercolored with distress inks. The lilies and teapot are cut out, the small liles are put behing the bigger spray which is popped up.

Nancy, I loved you sharing about your childhood memories of Lilly-of-the-Valley, as I so relate. Also, Eddie Haskell...he was a bad, bad boy, wasn't he? I doubt you were that bad ; )
Okay, about your card: LOVE IT! The bg stamping is gorgeous, the teapot/vase is fab, the lillies-of-the valley are beautiful and you cut them out so perfectly! In a word: GORGEOUS! And I love antiques, too...and that plate is wonderful!!

OMG, this is beautiful. And what a lovely image. One of my favorite spring flowers. My mom use to have them under one of the kitchen windows and it would smell so good in the morning. I love your plate also. Great card and thanks for the memory...tfs

Eddie Haskell, eh? Lawd, yes, I remember him and somehow just can't imagine Her Royal Sweetness (yes, that's you) being an Eddie Haskell! What a hoot you are, Nancy, or maybe we should start calling you Edwina. ha!
I also love Lily of the Valley flowers. They are so delicate and so fragrant. I can almost smell them now looking at your lovely plate and pretty card! What a beautiful interpretation!
