and he desperately wanted to do that too. Since the blossom was being used and his sister was being very detailed and taking lots of time and he didn't want to wait patiently for it, I pulled out The Shape of Things for him to color on. I finally convinced him that he didn't have to color on the whole stamp with one color of marker (might as well use a stamp pad for that), but he could write or draw anything he wanted and then stamp it out to see what it looked like, and this is what he did. If you look close (sorry the picture is dark...I don't have the card anymore to take another one because he had to give it away right away) you will see that it is mounted on black and then the base is blue, which is another thing he insisted on because blue is his favorite color. All in all I think it looks kind of like modern art and I like how the scribble, er...art, stops abruptly at the sides whre the stamp stopped, and it turned out to be pretty elegant, especially for a 3 year old boy! :-)

clever! and a fun way to share hobby time with the little ones. ;-) I used to let DS "stamp" using a plain wet sponge as his "ink" and his favorite construction paper. The stamps would show up quite well on the construction paper with just water, and I never had to worry about my 2 1/2 year old being covered in ink.

I love it. It's very classy, and you can be proud of those rounded lines! What a great idea to have them use markers on the big stamps. I love your daughter's rainbow flower, too. I really like having my kids make cards (watercolor, etc.) to send to special family.

This is so much fun, I love that you are stamping with your children and teaching them the joy of giving! (I bet the reciever of his card was delighted.)
