Another one that was stuck in my head and I had time (thanks to my DH) this morning to make it. It only took a few hours to make ! Lol! But it was worth it. The northern lights were inspired by a painting I saw somewhere.

This is beautiful. I have never seen the Northern Lights. Do they really cover that much of the sky? Love the snow too! How does the liquid applique travel. What I mean is.......after you put it in an envelope and send it.....does it still look the same at the end of the trip? Just wondering. Blogs at Splitcoaststampers

Thank You!
Okay... the sky: It's a combo of both pencils and pastels. I took the yellow watercolor pencil and lightly drew where I wanted the northern lights. Grabbed Blender pen, in circular motion I blended the "lights" into the final width. Went back over it with yellow pastel. Blended in gable green pastels to give the "lights" depth. You can see it better in person... anyway. LIGHTLY Filled in remaining sky with dark blue pencil to the edges of the yellow. Went in after with brilliant blue pastel in just the middle of the blue area (layering lightest to darkest). Then the final layer was filled in with black pastel to give further depth. I finished by touching up the yellow with pastels, again, and sprayed fixative over the card.
Yes, the northern lights can cover the entire sky, but they don't usually look exactly like this.
