I had a lot of fun with this project. Finally got my head around our tickle for the tea partiers. The theme is wind and I wasn't sure I had anything in particular that would work. So, as usual, I did a little searching on Google for ideas, like quotations about wind or song lyrics. I thought about the song Windy by the Association or They Call the Wind Mariah from Paint Your Wagon. But in the end I settled on a Shania Twain lyric, because I knew I could do something with feathers.
Next step was to figure out if I could use this week's sketch. I did! Another idea I had was to use alcohol inks and my blower tool to simply 'blow' them around, like the wind. If I wasn't so modest, I'd say I'm one smart cookie. I used AI pearls in warm colors, very randomly applied, which is what I like. I used a lot of feather stamps and dies with the VC monarch ink, which is an absolute favorite of mine. I printed out the lyric on some gold printer paper, has a bit of shine to it.
For today's WT, we were to do something with an envelope. I found some handmade paper envelopes, not made by me, and just added some strips from my gel print background and ai piece and a few feathers. I think I'll add one more diecut feather to it. I don't think the USPS is super fond of fancy envelopes so I didn't want to do too much. Gotta leave room for addresses.
Thanks for these challenges, Kim, Gracie and Sabrina, thanks for making me stretch a bit. I'm going to be back with more envelope fun. I'm also going to decorate the inside of the card.

This looks fabulous, Jean, you are so clever at combining challenges! Great idea thinking of feathers, they look terrific here with the colourful AI bg!

You have definitely put a lot of thought and work into this delightful card. The pretty collection of feathers and the brilliant colours. Wonderful matching envelope.
