Sue asked us to make a vintage style card for this week's Teapot Challenge. That's a hard style for me to pull off, and I went down several dead ends before coming up with this design (which could have used a little more color contrast, I know.) The image is from a set called Vintage Labels, stamped in sepia with a few spots colored with pencils. It's set inside a frame created with two sizes of a fancy label die, which was then embossed and the raised portion inked up with pink. The bottom of the label has a strip of paper lace, which was antiqued with some Antique Linen distress ink. The edges of the flowered panel also have Antique Linen on them. I used a musical score stamp on the blue before die-cutting the butterfly, although I used Versamark and the effect is pretty subtle. And I dug out a photo turn (is that the right word??), which I bought ages ago and I'm not sure I've ever one actually used before -- truly vintage stuff there. I do admire a good vintage card, and working on this really made me appreciate all the work that goes into one.
