This is for FS798 and Kim Padan aka berlycece is our featured artist this week. Congratulations, Kim! You have such a lovely gallery! I had a great time browsing and finally settled on Virtual Western Guy by berlycece at Splitcoaststampers. I kept the cowboy silhouette theme but used a die cut cowboy silhouette to replace the stamped cowboy. I turned the card to a horizontal layout used a double layer rectangle for the image base instead of designer paper layers. I sponged the corners, top and bottom of the image layer and left an oval opening for the cowboy. I hand braided three thin strips of cardstock to create the faux leather braid used to frame the image and to replace the twine rope on Kim's cowboy layer.
Check out my 2009 Faux Leather, Faux Snakeskin, Faux Gold tutorial that I did years ago using Stampin' Up! images and showing how I made the faux leather braid. The tutorial also shows how I created snakeskin strips and a gold western belt buckle.

Wow, your faux leather is gorgeous, Kittie! Your hand braided frame is incredible!
