My oldest daughter turned 40 this weekend. Wow! If she thinks that makes her feel old she should step into my shoes!
This is the first of two cards I'm making for her. (The other is a fun timeline using clip-art images of events that happened each year since she was born - she'll get that when she comes for Easter... It'll hopefully be done by then!)
This card was totally inspired by a beautiful creation by Cathy Zielske. I love this die by Waffle Flower and was not disappointed with how this turned out. I followed Cathy's video instructions. Watercoloured a rainbow using distress inks; die cut the butterflies from the rainbow piece and a metallic paper; used Press 'n' Seal to hold the bits in place so I could tape the pieces all together on the back. The final piece is popped up on dimensionals - the photo doesn't quite capture it. I couldn't decide what colour to make the outline so I now have enough bits and pieces to make at least three more similar cards...
I've not had much chance to post much as I've been busy making Easter cards for the church card ministry that I make cards for. Dropped off another 45 cards at the church this weekend. I'm delighted to have found a way to use up some of my stash!
Finally getting another ABC Challenge Card into my gallery - ABC16I9 is "Insect". Thanks for stopping by.

Those are the most lovely insects, Heather. I love the gorgeous rainbow effect outlined by the bling layer. My daughter turned 40 this past summer, so I totally get your sentiment...and hers! Did you get her timeline done? Our house got a little raucous on Saturday...I sure feel the effects more, but I love the gathering nonetheless 😊

I really like the rainbow effect on your butterflies and they gleam even more with the glittery frames. Absolutely gorgeous creation. Makes me want to get out of this seat and fly away...TFS!
