This is my sample for the first Color Challenge of April. Our hostess, Mary selected Old Olive, White, and Misty Moonlight with the dessert option of a 4th color of your choice.
This month, I decided to utilize items that will be retiring from the Stampin Up catalog. For this beautiful color combo, I used the Positive Thoughts stamp set and coordinating dies that will available for only a few more weeks. My dessert 4th color is Bumblebee which will also be retiring soon.
I stamped the foliage in the Old Olive and die-cut the stems. The butterfly is stamped in Misty Moonlight and die-cut. I blended Bumblebee ink on the wings. I stamped the flowers and then die-cut. The white panel is die-cut from the same set; I like the decorative border. Then, I stamped on the sentiment. My Bumblebee card base was dry embossed and then I layered on a strip of Misty Moonlight DSP.
After everything was arranged and adhered, I used Wink of Stella on the butterfly wings. I flicked the WOS brush tip against the cap which distributed the sparkle lightly all over the card. So pretty!
Wonderful colors for us this week. I look forward to seeing what you create and what will be your dessert color. Have fun! TFL

Your floral arrangement is so lovely on this card, Diane! I love the yellow color you chose for dessert, and the combination of color, design and texture on this pretty card. So glad you're going to be designing with us for a while longer!

This set has such elegance yet versatility and you've definitely shown that with this lovely card, Diane! I'm really going to miss the embossing folder too. Whatever will I do???
