LeAnn is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. Thank you, sweet friend, for a perfect palette for my new Winnie-the-Pooh stamps. The colors are Real Red, Petal Pink and Pool Party. The dessert option is Flowers. (I hope you can see that Pooh and Piglet are blowing the seeds from dandelion flowers!)
I am channeling the wonderful Vicky Papaioannou today. I watch every video she shares, and have learned a huge amount from her about art journals. I still have a long way to go, but I've tried to incorporate her tips in each page I create. This is page #5.
I started out with a 6" x 6" piece of watercolor paper, which I punched to go into my disc-bound journal. I figured out roughly where I wanted to place the figures and clouds, then spread white embossing paste through a stencil in three open areas. After it dried, I sprayed the paper with water and the three sprays mentioned in the supplies list. I kept spraying and alternating colors until I liked the result, then dried it with my heat tool.
I stamped the figures and sentiments on Bristol Smooth cardstock, and adapted a cloud stencil to give me the shapes I wanted. Pooh wasn't wearing any clothes (!), so I gave him a red shirt. I colored the figures with Zig markers in this week's colors, then fussy cut everything out.
I randomly stamped some tiny text along all the edges and some script randomly on the body of the page and splattered some white gouache. I brushed on extra Walnut Stain around the edges to frame the page. Added some Washi tape for Pooh and Piglet to sit on, and the seeds from their flowers with black glaze pen. The figures and clouds are popped up on foam tape. I added a few clay hearts. As a final touch, I used a tiny bit of Cosmic Shimmer Opal Blaze Polish on my finger over the mosaic embossed areas for a little glitz and shine. Oh, and of course, today's date.
Thanks so much for looking. If you haven't tried making an art journal page, I highly recommend it; you can really let your imagination and creativity run wild!
