Sometimes I feel like a 'dim bulb', lights on, nobody's home. Not an idea in my head! But then, the bulb brightens, I arrive home and I have ideas! This is what happened with the three challenges for yesterday and today.
I watched a video by Kristina Werner, where she blended several inks after masking a chevron pattern. I thought to myself, 'could I do that with the colors for yesterday: rich razzleberry, daffodil delight (subbed soft saffron) and pacific point.' Then it dawned on me that, basically, they are primary colors. Ah ha, they could be blended with no problem.
I used today's sketch, although I added a few more lines at the bottom because I wanted the blending to go further up the card. I kept the colors soft. I cut a mask with the largest heart and blended all three colors. Made some white cs into the razzleberry and the blue and cut two smaller hearts. I used a geo-heart stencil over the bottom.
This will go to our teaparty recipient, Kati. Time is of the essence for Kati so I'll get this in the mail today. Couldn't decide on a sentiment inside or outside but, again, that light bulb needs to come on quickly.
Thanks for these challenges, I love the sketch and I'm liking the colors more than I would have thought.
