Does this even count as CAS? My background seems busy for CAS but since I often don't seem to know when to stop adding elements, layers and shiny things to my cards this one seems pretty low-key.
The background was created on a play day in my Rubber Room - sometimes I just like to see what happens with various inks and papers. Smooshed and dragged w/c paper through water and distress inks. Used a stencil to add more colour once it had dried. Gave it a blast with mica spray and let it age for a few months in my stash.
This Paper Rose Nativity Tree die magically appeared in my mailbox recently so I dug through my stash of bg papers and this one sang out to me. Die cut the tree and words out of dark green cardstock (it looks almost black in the photo) and the nativity scene out of white. A few stickles for a star, a dark green layer to make the bg pop and it was ready to assemble.
I love this die - we have always placed a nativity scene around the bottom of our tree and O Holy Night is one of my favourite Christmas hymn so it speaks to me. (My list of favourite Christmas carols/hymns is very, very long....)
Thanks for stopping to have a peek at my humble gallery.

I love how you used a black and white silhouette together. I need to try that!
