Karen is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has changed things up a bit for us with some lovely pastel colors: Mint Macaron, Petal Pink, and Pool Party. The dessert option is Metallic.
I spent last Saturday in an online class with six amazing teachers from around the world. The class kit included several stamp sets and die sets and was great fun. I will admit I still haven't finished any of the cards from the class, but I did use two of the die sets with this week's colors to make a pretty thank you card, based on a variation shown by Vicky Papaioannou.
I die cut a circle in the top white layer, then dry embossed with the subtle embossing folder. I cut a circle frame from gold cardstock and mounted this layer on a white card base with foam tape. I cut the flowers and leaves in this week's colors, then sponged the same colors of ink on each one to give them a little more depth. Then I molded them with a stylus to give dimension. Arranged the flowers and foliage around the opening, and added some Nuvo drops to the centers of the flowers and on the card here and there. I die cut the greeting twice in pink and stacked them on the gold background layer.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
