Happy Thanksgiving to Kia and all our Canadian friends. Sometimes I wish our Thanksgiving was earlier.
As Marilla would say, no extra frills, furbelows or wasting fabric for puffed sleeves...I kept it simple.
I was first introduced to AOGG by the TV series in the 1980's. I didn't read the books until after that. I have no idea why...they seem like books my grandparents would have introduced to me. But better late than never! I've been in love with Anne, Diana, Gilbert, Marilla and Matthew ever since. I think Anne is a perfect role model for anyone. One of my favorite quotes from the series is when Anne asks Diana asks for a lock of her jet-black tresses...Diana responds that she doesn't have any jet-black dresses. Poor Diana, always bemused. If ever two friends let each other be themselves, it was Anne and Diana.

I still remember the look on Matthew's face as Anne chatters away on that ride to Green Gables. I already had a pink gel print with leaves, no clue of the media on top. I heat embossed the HA floral stamp in white, decided the background was too pale and sprayed some of the pink bubblegum spray to darken it. Could still use more.
I was so sad when Matthew died....Richard Farnsworth was the perfect Matthew. And Jonathan Crombie....dreamy as Gilbert, died too young. I haven't cared for further productions of the books, especially 'Anne With An E'...too far from the books.

Oh I know, such awful news when they died. Jonathon Crombie also played in a sequel here in Canada called Anne of Avonlea. I don't know if it aired in the USA.
Your card is beautiful Jean - creativity at its best.
