I have the pleasure of being hostess this week and I wanted to start September off with some fall colors. I got my colors from this paper pad -it's one of my favorites. (One of those where you hate to use the paper because you love it so much you want to hoard it,but you also want to use it because you love it SO much. The card makers dilemma!)
I actually had another card in mind when I started making this one. I was going to color in the sunflowers using markers and stencil a sky with the plaid paper just peeking out. You can see how that idea changed!
I really liked the layering dies that came with the class set so I used just the dies instead. I used the coordinating ink on the dies cuts to give them some shading and dimension. I was also going to add a neutral green - Mossy Meadow - but decided this really didn't need it. I liked the stalks in the blue. Also in the blue and a bit hard to see, I added one enamel dot to the corner.
I hope you will join us this week. We love seeing all your cards!

I immediately fell in love with your plaid dp and when I read your write-up about the carmaker's dilemma I was shaking my head "yes, yes, yes". It would be hard to use up this beauty, but what a fabulous bg for those big bold sunflowers. And, I agree that your blue was just the right touch -- no green needed at all. Fabulous card -- and a fabulous color palette for this weeks challenge. Thank you.

Your paper is inspiring! It is spot on with the decor in the stores this year. Love the pretty sunflowers, the curved edge and the textured ribbon. Wonderful card! Thanks for the terrific colors for Fall.
