It's Teapot Tickle time! Sue is our hostess and she has challenged us to make cards remembering Princess Diana, who died 24 years ago today. I was one year old when Diana married Prince Charles, so I obviously don't remember that. Nor would I have cared anyway. I just don't get the fascination with the Royal Family. But Princess Di was a fixture of my childhood--ever present on all the magazine covers at the grocery store. So I still remember that morning, during the summer before my senior year of high school, that I walked into the kitchen to make my morning tea and saw the newspaper on the kitchen table with the headline that Princess Di had been killed in a car crash. Like I said, I don't remember much about her at all, but she was such an icon that the moment I read about her death is permanently etched into my memory. Thinking about it right now, it doesn't seem so long ago, but remember the days when you would actually find out the news by reading the newspaper?
That's why I went with newspaper on my card. Sue tells us that Princess Di loved forget me nots, so I went with the forget me not theme and the "forever in our hearts" sentiment.
