As soon as she sent it to me, I knew exactly what I was going to make, adding a Down Under Australian twist to it. One of my knitting fashion books from the eighties includes Jenny Kee's iconic Binky koala sweater as worn by Princess Diana. In fact, the book features a slightly simplified version, but still by Jenny Kee. And for an up-to-date note, last year she re-released the sweater as a limited edition, to raise funds for the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. There's an article about it (and a photo of Princess Diana wearing hers) HERE.
So I was all set to go with a koala and knitting . Embossed and sanded the background. Stamped the koala on watercolour paper, coloured with Inktense pencils and fussy-cut. I added some colourful sequins and a sentiment. Panel edged with Stickles, and a gold line drawn on the card base to frame it.

Oh yes I too remember that knitted jumper too so I have gone with the koala theme as well. What a great idea to use the embossing folder as a warm textured background.

Love that knit embossing folder, it’s perfect! Great story about the Binky koala bear sweater, and you carried it out perfectly with that cute little guy!
