I really enjoyed this WCW challenge to draw and paint a lighthouse. I looked up lighthouses in Wisconsin and was intrigued by the lighthouse on Lake Winnebago called Asylum Point. The lake is a large lake near Oshkosh and in 1871, construction on the Northern Asylum for the Insane was begun on the promontory into the lake. It has been renamed Winnebago Mental Health institute but the lighthouse, the bay and the park still keep the Asylum name. Asylum means a place of refuge or sanctuary.
I'm quite interested in the WPA program and the lighthouse was a 1937 project, although the DOT rejected the use of the lighthouse as a navigational tool and it was never lit. In 2007, the lighthouse was granted a $4000 makeover, with labor provided by inmates at the Winnebago Correctional Institute. I'm glad the word 'asylum' has had a change of meaning over the years. This is also for Monday's CAS-glitter. My reference photo for the lighthouse was taken in winter so I added some silver and clear glitter Stickles for snow.

I like how you emphasize the light element in the lighthouse. We went to a museum attached to a lighthouse (near St. Augustine, FL, I think) and they had a huge display about the actual lights.
