It's time for another Color Challenge, and I'm your host this week. I've picked Fresh Freesia, Merry Merlot and Just Jade as the colors this week, with the dessert option to use a stencil.
I love fun-fold cards, and recently saw several of these clever step box cards made by CAKath (thank you, Kathy!), and hunted down the directions on Debra Harrison's blog. Thank you, Debra, for the great video and directions. This card was fun and easy to make.
Instead of a stamped sentiment, I used a Quote Flair button. This card is for my daughter and son-in-law, who are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary at the end of this month. The button says "Always Better Together," which is certainly true of them!
I used Distress Oxide inks that are close to the challenge colors, but now I'm wondering if Aged Mahogany would have been a better match for Merry Merlot than the one I selected, Seedless Preserves. Oh, and funny story, I spent a while yesterday creating a die-cut flower for this card, and realized during the night that I hadn't used a stencil on my card! Horrors! Change of plans, these flowers are made with a 5-part stencil set, stamp and die. A bit of an investment, but they work together with perfection! (Can't skip dessert!) ;-)
I hope you have fun creating with these colors! Can't wait to see your cards in the gallery this week!

Really love your stenciled flowers. Your wood panel shows them off so well. Gorgeous dsp, too.
