This week's Featured Stamper, Jan31, has a Gallery filled to the brim with variety -- beautiful cards, special folds and fun scrapbook layouts. I must be in a "green" phase though, because even with all that variety I was immediately drawn to this card and wanted to see if I could create the feel of this wonderful die: Happy Birthday by jan31 at Splitcoaststampers
For my bg, I gelli pressed the two lightest green DOX inks. I then inked the inside of my ef with the darkest green DOX and embossed. You get a much different look depending on which side you ink. Here's what both sides look like for this EF. I prefer the darker bg...now, if I can just remember in the future which side of the ef I need to ink...LOL. I finished the card off with a simple birthday sentiment just like Jan.
Jan, congratulations on being selected this week's FS. Your Gallery is delightful and I had many choices to choose from -- but I guess this week I'm just all about green. I hope you enjoy the week and all the cards you have inspired. And, I hope you all are feeling whatever color makes you happy this week...is it green, too? TFL

Both beautiful! Love how you showed examples of both...thank you. (I may try combining the 2 with different color inks). The bold headline is an awesome finish!

A pair of beautiful birthday cards. They are both so pretty. I like the dark background but I also like the other one that provides more detail on the leaves. Very pretty!

Love them both! Very cool technique, EF, and look, Debbie. I always forget this is an option and then when I see a stunning card like yours, I kick myself for forgetting it (not literally, of course). Lovely case!! Hugz

They both really shine for me! I'm loving the green of the outdoors right now after a very drought stricken early summer. Your leafy cards are very versatile - beautiful!
