How very interesting is this weeks MMTPT. A color challenge, 'The Bride wore White'. Thank you, Linda (bubblestx4) and Sabrina (Cook22). Of course, I had to veer a bit. This card also fits with the IC813 Afloral. Julie (justwritedesigns) led us to a lovely floral (but not 'real') site with beautiful plants, flowers, and accoutrements. I was inspired by dried flowers for home decor. I loved the textured stone wall and the lil' bits of decor'. I tried to tuck in meaningful objects for a bride, an artist bride at that!
Does anyone remember 'Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue? 4 good luck objects and a blessing. My new is the Woodware 'Art Palette' stamp. My old is the glass iridescent button from my grandmother. My borrowed is the stencil 'Be True'. And finally the blue are the vellum stars on the left sleeve.
I loved making this card...I will enjoy seeing how my fellow artists interpreted these two great challenges! Thanks for stopping by. If the little rhyme had you recalling what you did on your wedding, I'd love to hear. Did you have something blue tucked in your dress? The 'Pull' holds a secret message to the recipient!

This touches my heart with it's sweet artful blend of romance, fashion, truth, beauty, and the innocent memories of playing bride dress-up. On our wedding day, I gave John a photo of me as that 6 year old bride.
Oh, how beautiful! I love the art stamped on the dress and the little pearls! The blue stars and bit of ribbon make this extra special! How fun to add a secret message! Wow! It's scary but I can't remember, I think maybe my sister gave me something borrowed? The blue was the flowers in the bouquet. I remember the day. I remember that my sister made me a fantastic-shaped cake that looked like a church but I don't remember what was borrowed or old. My memory is something like swiss cheese in general.

This is a well adorned dress, Susan, with the flowers, buttons and sequins. The art palette an inspired idea and I do love the row of pearls! Thinking back to my wedding in 1981 I remember the blue being in my garter, the new my white wedding dress but can’t remember what was old or borrowed ~

Lovely, sweet, fun and artistic, Susan - all your creatins have those elements and this is no different. Love this dress and the pretty elements you added like the tiny heart button and the hangers.
Hubby and I got married twice when we got married 14 years ago. We had already paid for a fun little wedding in the mountains with just family, but we wanted to go on a trip together before then. Our minister's solution was to marry us before the trip (he actually married us during the church service the Sunday before the trip which was highly unusual but great that all our church friends could be there) and then we still had the wedding we paid for in the mountains. No special additions on the first ceremony, but we did have all the required elements on the bouquet (something borrowed, blue, old and new) in the mountains.
You always make us think sweet girl. Hugz

I love the symbolism of your card, Susan - it is meaningful and makes it a work of heart! Love the little details - the pearl necklace, the special buttons and that secret message!
For our wedding day 29 years ago, I remember that I borrrowed my mom's earrings, wore a blue garter under my new wedding dress, and used an old handkerchief. My hubby and I talked a lot during the ceremony (both of us are known to be the quiet ones in our respective families), my sister remarked that I have finally found someone to talk to, LOL.
