I wanted to do another of Anita's special fold from yesterday, since I didn't add all the elements. To me, a fancy fold and an all-white creation means Christmas or winter, so that's what I did.
I mostly used a fairly white moire paper, buried in the bottom of my paper stash. Also a mulberry and good old Neenah. The moire is thin so I mounted it on the Neenah so it was easier to dry emboss or diecut. I know having the POE sideways is a little funny but I like it...makes you stop and look. This was a pleasure to make.
Many of our western wedding traditions come from Queen Victoria, including the white dress. Others had worn one before her, but her influence was the strongest. I am happy I was not born during the time when a dowry was mandatory, women had no rights or possessions, kept barefoot and pregnant and were considered property. Awful!

Absolutely gorgeous! I, too, thought of winter but am still traumatized by the all white cards I attempted and gave up on last Christmas. Your card inspires me to try again.

I love the extra ornament, on top of the 3 focal points in Anita's clever fold. This is a marvelous Christmas card. I enjoy your comments about the state of women in days long past. I would add that for the majority of women there was not even the ceremony of a fancy wedding. That was reserved for the upper class. Here in America we tend to neglect the truth of poverty that has been the reality for the majority of humans for thousands of years.
