Kia has given us a very informative video this week. The artist shows some various ways to create texture to a painting. I watched the video four times and finally was brave enough to try it. It is easier than it seems at first. Did practice sketching and painting the bee before doing this painting. Once we get the confidence we can do it, it goes much smoother. Did the daisy with freehand painting, and then sketched the bee. Like how he used the end tip of his brush handle to create fur. Created the background last, not as he did in the video. Changed his thistle to a daisy. Come join us here is the link to the video.

Very well done! Your little Bumbler is perfect! Even his little hairs are there. Your flowers are beautiful as well. This is a wonderful piece that should be framed.

I am going to have to watch that video 100 times! Wow, Linda, your bee is stunning and so well done. I am always impressed with your watercolors but this one blows me away. LOVE IT! Hugz

Phenomenal! Bee and fur is awesome technique. Flower is beautifully water colored! Smaller flowers, greens, spattering and Bg are artistically done!
