Karen is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us a lovely combination to work with: Highland Heather, Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzazz. The dessert option is May flowers.
I pulled out one of my all-time favorite SU sets from many years ago, Bloomin' Beautiful, and colored the flower image with my Karin markers. I used the markers direct to rubber, which gives a somewhat no-line look to the flower. Filled in a tiny bit with a marker and then used a waterbrush to blend out the color.
The background was created using a brayer and Rich Razzleberry ink on the recessed side of an embossing folder, and then running a piece of Highland Heather cardstock through my machine. The speckled background was a happy (?) accident. I have no idea how/why that happened! Popped up the text with foam tape and mounted all on a white card base.
I'm looking forward to seeing your creations with this color combo in the gallery this week. Please join us!

This brings back so many memories as this flower is a SU classic. But you have upgraded the look by the embossed bg with the extra layer of ink. Awesome.
