For Ann's alpha challenge of alcohol inks. Tina Zinck has some excellent teaching on using alcohol markers on vellum. Check it out and see the magic. I cut the trees from c.s. and used a Stampin Write marker to color in the trunks. Added some midas touch to the trees and popped them up on dimensionals. Glued on a heart from stash and a bird, (diecut from leftover piece from this vellum technique). Double cut the melon mambo sentiment and sponged Tombow multi glue on the back to adhere it. Sponged the green hill with walnut stain DOX and added a line of stickles along the bottom.
The teapotters are sending cards to Linda as she is missing her Mom and crafting partner. Dr. Sonja is Linda's "partner in crime" now and they are doing a wonderful job together! Dr. Sonja has been the wonderful answer to prayers for Linda. Polly is hosting the challenge and we were to include something on our card that reminds us of our mother. She used to take us to a park called Little Mountain to see the flowers and be out in nature so hence the trees. I also have fun memories of hiding Valentine's cards in my Mum's vanity dresser drawer for her to come upon and be surprised. ~thanks for looking.~

Oh yes, I love the look of alcohol inks on vellum - the softness and translucency play well together. What a great background. I like your spreading trees, too.

Okay, I came over here straight away! Read every comment and will get to that video soon. How very special your memory of your mom. A heart warming story for Mother’s Day....special, Shirl and your card is fantastic! Not only the MB trees, but how you grounded them.
