Yesterday, I was sitting all alone in an exam room, waiting for my second mammogram in a week and an ultrasound. Yes, I was nervous. I've only been called back once before for more pictures. Well, long story short, I'm fine, all benign. But I was sitting there in a very uninteresting room, except for a beautiful photograph on the wall. As I gazed, I realized that it was basically the colors for yesterday: jade green, rose and honey yellow. I struggle with this CC because I need more inspiration than just colors. So I got 'more' and decided to try to recreate the photograph, which was definitely a fall leaf focal point.
I used four Luminarte' paints to recreate the dreamy, bokeh, out of focus background: wintermint, golden jade, rose petal, mocha rose. I only had the rococo rose ink in my supplies. I was pleasantly surprised how well the greens and roses mixed and didn't make mud. I found a twig in the backyard (it's from an evergreen tree, only trees I have), stamped the leaves in the brown and watercolored with wild honey and fossilized amber and added a bit of merry merlot, since the leaves in the painting had some red on the edges. Also added a little bit of the green and rose paints. I like a bit of green with my fall colors. I think the leaves in the painting were birch. Stamped a bit of script with the rococo rose and then the sentiment over that in Memento espresso truffle. Used today's sketch for this. I really had fun thinking about these colors and hope you can see my vision. Wish I had been able to take a photo of the photo but I didn't have my phone on me (no pockets in the hospital gown opening in the front!)
