Our theme this month is the Ocean, Authors, and Friends. I can't wait to see our gallery filled with your inspired take! Please join us.
My card is a diorama. It has an ere of mystery which only the recipient will see. I've photographed the card so that there will be things to discover! Just like the Sylvia, you have to dive in...the waters fine! Well, maybe not exactly...pack your wet suit. And cozy loungewear.
My favorite author is forever changing...hence the stack of old leather bound books. Right now I am rereading Hemingways 'The Old Man and the Sea'. I just might stroll along the beach with my parasol to protect my skin. I've placed interesting scenes inside the diorama both front and back of the panels. It was fun to be an interior designer.
Check out the library floor. I can just imagine a get together with fellow TeaPotter's. We would read, laugh, sing, dine, and 'bask in the for reals' of our friendships. Can't we just step into a time machine and suspend moments for awhile.
See you there...

Wow I've looked at this twice and still find more to see. Love love love it and I so wish I had some mojo to participate in this challenge. Whoever receives this is receiving a work of art and so much love and time and special items on it. So creative to create a room. I would love to take a peep inside LOL. I also enjoyed your write up and did check out the hotel and told DH that if we ever get back to the States this hotel is on our list LOL. I loved the dreamy rooms....Jane Austen, Emily Dickinson, Chez Colette and Agatha Christie. I especially loved the rooms overlooking the ocean. I think I would choose Jane Austen or Agatha Christie to create something. One of my first novels was an Agatha Christie book....To Kill A Mockingbird was actually my very first and I still remember it. When we visited Egypt about 15 years ago we stayed at the New Cataract but visited the Old Cataract and where AC wrote Death on the Nile. We had High Tea on the Terrace overlooking the Nile watching the feluccas pass. It was such a wonderful experience and I romanticised about how wonderful it would have been to have stayed there in the 30s or later.
Back to your card...it's amazingly awesome. I'm currently reading and the crafting mojo has flown the coop but who knows...this may just inspire me and especially the library room....oooh just awesome and my sort of thing. I will meet you there for a quiet chat and a cheeky red or white.
TFS. Happy day and hugs

I am simply awed at how you built a miniature room with little nooks and crannies that I would like to explore! This is classic Susan in 3D! Love the concept and the execution!
I enjoyed your challenge so much, and I am fantasizing all of us Teapotters getting together sipping mulled cider at the library, having a great time making cards and reading books (we might be a loud bunch though, LOL).

Another wow here, this is amazing! Love the books, the hotel name, the netting...what’s inside? And the girl with the parasol and the drink umbrella behind it - so much of interest in your work of art!

What a fantastic diorama, Susan. Sneaky, taking your photo so that we don't all get to see the hidden treasures ;-), but great fun for the recipient to discover them. Love your row of old books, and the snippet of net adds a great seaside feel. Thank you so much for this challenge - it's taken me nearly an hour to read all the write-ups but it's been fascinating. Oh - and I love your use of the cocktail umbrella! Fantastic.

Your diorama is FANTASTIC and a wonderful homage to a historic hotel.....details even of the windows and exterior color. Your artistic talent shines through on every element.

Love your card and have hopes that it will be mine so I can discover the hidden mysteries. And I agree that the library at the hotel is awesome. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to meet there?

Susan, this challenge was so fun, and so is this wonderful creation. You should take pictures and offer them to Sylvia Beach Hotel to use in their ads because every book lover will be enticed by this.
