For Polly's "In the Pink" MMTPT challenge today.
I went with her masterboard option, more or less following the directions in the Four-in-One collage tutorial from Falliday Fest to guide my positioning. I used Playful Petals mostly, with a supporting cast of Roses in Winter, and in the background Canvas and an old Hero script stamp. After colouring all the open flowers I sponged with antique linen distress, and then stencilled a TH flourish in green wherever I thought it needed it. Added white and silver gel pen details, and then painted dilute gold Stickles from the end of a bottle over patches. Trimmed, matted on black, and added my sentiment and butterfly. The middle layer of the butterfly is shimmer paper.

You, my friend, are AMAZING! I just love the way this turned out, and I knew that if you did this technique it would be beautiful! I know that Vickie will love this beauty!

Your masterboard came out so pretty. Until I saw that tutorial, I'd only ever seen them made with different colored inks, but I think coloring some of the images makes a much richer look.

That master board is so cool - The flowers are gorgeous but it is the bits of screening that adds the perfect finishing touch in my book. My eyes (bad as they are) caught the shimmer and shine in your butterfly right away.

What a wonderful technique and it is beautiful. Looks time consuming and so worth it. Love the sentiment.
