Okay - Daffodils are HARD!! Lightly sketched my blooms then started with my palest yellow and promptly lost all my highlights when I added the deeper tones. Now, I will say here that part of the problem may have been that this was the first time I tried my "holy moly $14 Princeton brush" instead of the usual aqua pen. The splurge was with a Christmas gift card. It will definitely take more practice to get used to how much paint it holds but the good news is my paper didn't pill with this brush.
Anyway, added and lifted paint until I got back some of the highlights, dried and started on the bg which I wanted more blue than green but colors had a mind of their own and there are at least some deeper tho subtle blue undertones. I did add kosher salt to my bg (and usually have great results with that technique but only got 2 or 3 spots today, so added a few Nuvo Dew Drops when the painting was dry and then spattered with Egyptian gold H2O's - not really showing in the pic but shimmery IRL.

Daffodils are SO hard! I'm proud of you for taking up the challenge. I chickened out! Yours is a perfect springtime scene. With one of my very favorite sentiments. I use that one inside so many of my cards. Love the addition of the gold splatter and dew drops. I can't wait to see what they in store for us next week!

I must admit the dew drops caught my eye first. So fresh. Lovely work with the colors and contrasts.
