I used some Asian wrapping paper for my bg and added my colored image and swirly die cut. We are sending cards to Paul who has lost two family members to Covid.

Beautiful Asian themed card, Polly, that is gorgeous wrapping paper! This all works so wonderfully together - the colours and design. Also love how you staged the photo, that is a fabulous gold leaf in the bg!

I love that wrapping paper Polly and what wonderful images you added too. The die cut layers are perfect for your layout. Thank you so much for joining in on the challenge this week. I am sure Paul will love this sweet card.

I have been enjoying looking at some of your artwork in your gallery, your work is amazing and I am impressed that your style is so versatile with great talent in many areas. I really love how you have photographed this card, with the golden tree branch and the wooden background--this is something that I need to work on to provide more atmosphere and interest when I photograph my cards. I really appreciate learning from you in so many ways!!!
I was very impressed with how you have combined elements to create such a strong oriental flavor, wow!!! I recognized that swirly die-cut as being one of Anna Griffin's, I don't think that I have it but I wish that I did! It's somewhat similar to a die in the Fretwork's collections that I have... Using wrapping paper is genius, it adds such a strong flavor of oriental along with the circular disc die-cut with the oriental written characters that I think that you have stamped or found like this, whichever it is, it's very effective and it looks AMAZING as a grouping to create an overall atmosphere, and I am extremely impressed! Your coloring of your focal image is so bright and detailed, so effective and it is gorgeous. All of the details in this card create such a cohesive whole, every time I look again, I see more and more--like the embossed and pierced edging around your focal image as one small example. I have favorited this, and I wish that I could list it in my favorites of the week, hoping that thread returns when the technical issues are solved.
I needed to thank you for leaving that comment on my snowflake hand-stitched card. These hand-stitched cards are clearly not for everyone, and I'm very thankful that you went to the time and trouble to leave your comment, it really encouraged me and I appreciate your kindness. I am thankful to learn from your artwork when I see it here on the SCS gallery, and I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all that you teach me, I admire your artwork and I see so much talent and artistry when I see your work. Are you a member of any design teams? If that's your desire, you should pursue it. Not everyone wants to do this, I understand, but you certainly have the artistry and inventiveness in your work.
Thanks again for truly encouraging me at a time when I need it. Please stay healthy and safe as life is so uncertain at this time.
