The pieces for this card have been sitting near my work desk for weeks. I took Heather Telford's color class and this was for the project where we chose one color ink, created a layered background by drying in between applications of ink, the end result being that the ink would reveal other colors. She used chipped sapphire, therefore I did too. The cut out pieces were stamped on the watercolor paper with Versamark, white embossed, then dipped into the chipped sapphire, trying to get different hues of color, like purple and pink. There were no dies available so I fussy cut them all. I guess I was waiting for this tutorial and the F4A, a mostly blue card. The glitter on the belly band flowers is white, not sure why it looks green, unless some of the chipped sapphire was activated by the glue. I think this will be for my daughter Liz's birthday in December.
Here is my story for the MIX: in March of 1981, a young woman named Jean found out she was pregnant with her first child, due December 19. Jean wasn't that great at math so it was a big surprise that her due date was so close to Christmas. Jean's pregnancy was idyllic, no huge problems, some nausea that lasted longer than three months, extremely tired because she was anemic, but otherwise, easy as pie. Jean loved being pregnant. December 19 came, Jean went to bed that night and was woken at about 3 am on the 20th with severe back pain. Is this labor? She wasn't sure.Long story short, Jean went to the hospital at about 1 pm, still not sure if she was in labor because she didn't expect her labor to feel like it did. It was horrible. She hadn't slept since 3 am. The Packers were playing the Jets on the TV, which Jean didn't care about as they were losing, and finally at 9:16 pm, Elizabeth Jean was born. Good thing it was a girl as Elizabeth's parents had no boy name chosen. Elizabeth Jean came home Christmas Eve and lived happily ever after.
